If you are budget traveler in Europe, you HAVE to download these money-saving apps! Not only will they save you time and money, but they are convenient and useful when you are always on the go. Here are six apps, I wish I knew about before traveling to Europe.

Trainline
This app compares the prices for high speed train and regular trains to help you decide which one you want to take. Do you want to get there faster for more money or slower and save a couple bucks? I love it because you don’t need to print a ticket out or visit a ticket machine. Everything you need is on the app so you can focus on finding your platform instead of finding the ticket machine.

Hostelworld
Many travelers know Hostelworld, a lifesaving app when you need to find a cheap and convenient place to stay. Each hostel is reviewed by fellow travelers who have stayed there in the past. They rate the cleanliness, the location, the environment and more, which is great when your trying to find the right hostel for your needs.
On the other hand, Couchsurfing is another option if you don’t mind staying in other peoples houses. It’s an even cheaper way to travel!
FlixBus
FixBus is the cheapest way to get around Europe! I went from Amsterdam to Berlin for $33!! They have bus routes all over Europe to help you easily get from one country to another. You can take short rides to different cities or overnight busses to different countries. Plus, its eco friendly compared to flying!

Booking.com
If hostels aren’t your thing then resort to booking.com. You can rack up points for some freebies and discounts. Plus, you can find the best options in your area with no hidden fees and free cancelations on nearly every room.

Local transportation apps
My Airbnb host in Amsterdam recommended Viavan for a taxi service around the city and it was even cheaper than Uber! In Asia, you can find apps like Grab to get you from point A to B in a cheap and efficient way. Overall, finding local apps will help you save a ton in the long run!

Skyscanner
Skyscanner search’s the web for all the flights and connecting flights to present the cheapest flight to your destination. It’s a great tool I use and I especially loved the calendar feature, where you can see which days are best to book your flight.

Final Thoughts
Those are a few apps that have helped me save a buck (or should I say Euro) when I was traveling through Europe. Even if you aren’t a budget traveler, some of these apps are SUPER helpful. Do you use any of these apps? I would love some suggestions of apps I missed! Let me know in the comments below!
